Brilliant Club students visit St Hugh's College, University of Oxford

A group of year 9 students took part in a trip to Oxford Univeristy for the launch of The Scholars Programme, an academic programme run by The Brilliant Club.

As part of the programme, students will write a 2,000 word essay with mentoring from a PHD student from Oxford University.

Our students are very lucky to be working with a Cognitive Neuroscience PHD student from UCL who is currently researching teenage brain development, with a focus on the effects of social context on distraction. The topic of their essay will be teenage brain development.

During the launch visit students were taken on a tour of the college, took part in a study skills session, were offered the chance to meet and ask questions of current students and had their first tutorial with the PhD Tutor.

The students thoroughly enjoyed the day and are looking forward to working on their essays over the next few weeks!
