Open Day for Prospective Teachers

We are holding an open day on Thursday 11th February for anyone interested in becoming a teacher.

FCHS are hosting an open day for anyone interested in entering the teaching profession; whether you are just interested in a possible career in teaching, are looking for a career change into teaching or re-entering the profession we would love to welcome you along. We are open to all members of the community at different stages of their professional development.


The day gives you a chance to find out:

  • The different pathways into the profession.

  • Experience a typical day in the life of a teacher

  • Meet trainees new and old

  • Meet students and understand their needs

  • Meet the departments and possible future colleagues

  • Refreshments will be provided throughout the day.

We are currently looking to fill a number of Schools Direct placements for the 2016/2017 academic year.

The School’s Direct route is a salaried programme into teaching and training takes place on site here at Finchley Catholic. Up to 3 years work experience is required before you can apply for the Schools Direct.

We are particularly looking for trainees in the following subjects:

  • Maths
  • Chemistry 
  • Physics
  • Religious Education
  • Computer Science
