Over 250 guests gathered in the hall to celebrate the achievements of 114 students!
On Thursday the 24th November we held our annual Presentation Evening. We were joined by over 250 parents, students and guests including past teachers of the school and the Deputy Mayor and Mayoress of Barnet.
Our Guest of Honour was Craig Heap, an Olympic Gymnast and Commonwealth Games Gold Medal Winner.
Craig awarded trophies, certificates and prizes to students for the following achievements:
Effort and Attainment Awards
Special Commendations for Captaining the School Teams
GCSE Subject Prizes
GCSE Awards for Superb Achievement
AS Level Awards for Superb Achievement
Outstanding Contribution Awards
Outstanding Achievement Awards
Martin Quigley Award
The Governors’ Prize
The Head Teacher’s Prize
He then addressed the students and parents, talking about his life story, how he manged failure and a tough childhood and how he tackled being different from his peers. He spoke to students about their aspirations and about following their dreams as well as congratulating them and their parents on their fantastic achievements. His address was incredibly engaging and entertaining but presented a very serious and important message to students.
A number of students also performed musical interludes during the evening. We heard Deano Spyrou playing a Greek piece on the bouzouki, Tomas Campbell on the ukulele and James Morgan on the accordion.
We are immensely proud of all the students who received an award.
