Duke of Edinburgh Award

We are proud to offer both the Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh awards here at Finchley and hope to introduce the Gold Award very soon.

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, or DofE, is the world's leading youth achievement award, giving young people between the ages of 14 and 24 the most incredible opportunity to take part in a wonderfully diverse range of exciting activities. These all count towards an Award which is highly prized by colleges, universities and employers!

If you choose to take part, you really will discover that there's more to life than sitting on the sofa watching T.V., texting your mates and browsing the Internet!

You'll achieve your Bronze and Silver Awards by taking part and completing a flexible, personalised programme of activities across four sections – Volunteering, Physical, Skills and Expedition. If you go for your Gold Award, there's an additional Residential section.

In 2016-17, 63 students passed their Bronze Awards with a completion rate of 82%, far in excess of the national completion rate of 50%.  In 2017-18, 80 students are undertaking the Bronze Award and 11 are working towards  Silver.
