EPQ is an independent research qualification. It is 100% centre assessed so there are no exams.
Each candidate completes a Product Log – an ongoing document which reflects what the candidate has done, how they did it and justifies the decisions throughout the year.
Each candidate also presents at the end of the course.
Each candidate submits either:
- An ‘artefact’ – a product, portfolio, design, production along with a short report of at least 1000 words.
- A 5000 word report – like a long essay
In addition, students can submit a resources log which includes evaluation of sources used, a Gantt Chart to show evidence of planning, and materials used in their presentation.
You will not be expected to get a textbook for EPQ
There are no exams (how it is assessed is mentioned above).
