Finchley Catholic High School, which celebrated its 90th anniversary in 2016 is a high performing Secondary School set in extensive grounds with the iconic White House at its heart. The multi million pound Sixth Form Centre is named after our founder, Canon Clement Parsons. Separate sports grounds and pavilion are a short walk from the school with an all weather pitch on site. The canteen and cafe with high quality food and a varied menu operates a cashless system and is available for students and staff, serving breakfast, mid-morning snacks and lunches. There are extensive computer facilities with white boards in every classroom and ongoing investment in ICT. The staffroom (pictured above) has recently been newly refurbished and is fully equipped.
Access to the school is easy, a four minute walk from Woodside Park tube station (Northern Line, zone 4) and two minutes from major bus routes north and south. 20 mins from Central London, on the fringe of green belt and with easy access to the M1, M25 and A406. There is a large staff car park and free on street parking outside the school. Secure bike sheds are available for students and staff.
Staff welfare is comprehensively catered for with both a staff welfare and staff social committee, to organise social events. Childcare vouchers and ride to work schemes are available, as well as flu jabs, health screening and eye tests. There is a full, ongoing programme of CPD opportunities, both internal and external with a structured approach to preparing colleagues for the next stage in their career in terms of personal and professional development. There is an essential skills active induction programme for new staff, middle leader and pastoral development and the possibility of attachments to the SLT.
The school governors are extremely supportive and very much involved in the day to day organisation of the school. There is also the opportunity to be involved in a wide variety of school visits and trips both at home and abroad and a very wide range of extra curricular activities.
