Welcome

Welcome to the Sixth Form at Finchley Catholic High School, where student experience is characterised by both academic and spiritual enrichment.

We are a co-educational Sixth Form for students aged 16-18 and are open to applications from individuals of various faiths or those without a specific religious affiliation. We create a nurturing environment for young individuals to excel academically. Over time, we have consistently attained impressive A-Level outcomes, equipping our students with the confidence and capabilities to positively move forward into their next endeavours. At Finchley Catholic, we recognise the unique needs of each individual: we understand that there are various routes young people may choose to pursue. With our exceptional knowledge and resources, we offer comprehensive support for Oxbridge and Russell Group university applications, as well as apprenticeships and other employment opportunities.

Our Sixth Form students enjoy exclusive use of The Canon Parsons Building within the school premises. This area is equipped with a dedicated study space and ICT facilities, providing a conducive environment for independent and focused study. Our students receive guidance on optimising their study sessions, overseen by our dedicated Sixth Form Supervisor.

We inspire all students to actively engage in both our local and broader community, placing a significant emphasis on the Catholic value of collaborative efforts to enhance the well-being of individuals in our society and the global community.

Students in the Sixth Form serve as exemplary role models for their younger peers, offering support through various means including mentoring programs, aiding younger students in specific subjects, participating in house competitions, and contributing to charity events. Fundraising plays a prominent role in the life of our Sixth Form, with students eagerly seizing leadership opportunities to organise events like quiz and film nights, as well as house bake-off competitions. Our Sixth Formers exhibit a proactive "can-do" spirit, making the most of a diverse range of extra-curricular activities. These include pursuits such as the Duke of Edinburgh Gold and Silver awards, engaging in Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), gaining valuable work experience at places such as Moorfields Eye Hospital, utilising Unifrog resources, and a host of other opportunities!

While progressing through their education, we are aware that students may encounter challenges, and we take pride in the robust pastoral care we offer. In Year 12 and 13, our dedicated Pastoral Leaders assist students with various concerns, including the transition into Sixth Form studies and guidance with university applications.

We take immense pride in our students, both in the Sixth Form and throughout their academic journey. We greatly value the contributions they make as active members of our community. Furthermore, we eagerly anticipate the ongoing impact they will have on society in their future endeavours. We frequently extend invitations to former students to return to the school and share their experiences with current students.

We wish you good luck as you contemplate this pivotal decision regarding your educational journey.
