Vision and Values

The mission of PSHE and Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) is to provide students with the knowledge and skills to enable them to thrive in the wider world.

Based on Gospel values, students will explore the different types of relationships: healthy and unhealthy, and how to cope with conflict. They will examine health and wellbeing, being able to identify harmful activities as well as healthy ones. They will also explore living in the wider world and acquire knowledge on topics such as money and taxation, as well as finding out about different career pathways. All of this will enable them to make appropriate choices at key transition points as well in their wider life.

Developing some of the topics in Health & Wellbeing and Relationships is crucial as students become young adults. It will help safeguard, ensure students are aware of the law and of the ethical debates going on around them. There will be more preparation for life after school – preparation and support will be provided for apprenticeships, university and employment.
