Our Black History Month Celebration Evening was a fantastic occasion which saw students, parents and special guests marking the culmination of the month’s events.
Finchley alumni, Daniel Barrett-Nembhard and Benson Egwuonwu were kind enough to return to their alma mater and deliver inspiring talks. Daniel, a former Head Boy, is now a highly successful member of the legal profession, as is Benson, following his graduation from St Catherine’s College, Oxford. Huge thanks to both for their brilliant contributions.
Thanks also to our other special guest speakers who included Ibrahim Sincere, a hip-hop and spoken word artist, Nick Winston and Chantelle Easmon- Johnson, Headteacher at Bishop Challoner School.
Our Sixth Formers did a superb job of hosting the event as did all the students who contributed with poetry, dance and more. Thank you to parents and others who generously contributed an array of food enjoyed by all at the event and to Ms Rendell, Ms Peerbacos and the other staff who helped to organise the event.
The many people who attended enjoyed a wonderful celebration of our cultural diversity, an asset of our school that we look to appreciate not just during Black History Month but in all we do.
