IT Technician

  • Salary: NJC P5-7 £28,521 - £29,346
  • Full-time (36 hours per week) | Fixed-Term Contract – 1 Year Initially
  • NOR: 1250 325 in 6th Form

Finchley Catholic High School is a highly successful and oversubscribed school, committed to providing outstanding education and support for our students. We are seeking a passionate and skilled IT Technician to join our dedicated team and play a key role in managing and maintaining our IT infrastructure.

As IT Technician, you will play a key role in the day-to-day support and maintenance of our school's IT systems and services. This includes:

  • Providing first-line technical support to staff and students, troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Setting up, maintaining, and repairing IT equipment including PCs, laptops, printers, and interactive displays.
  • Assisting with the installation and configuration of software and hardware across the school.
  • Supporting the smooth operation of the school's Wi-Fi, printing, telephony, and CCTV systems.
  • Maintaining accurate records of IT assets and ensuring stock levels of consumables are monitored.
  • Supporting staff onboarding and offboarding processes by managing user accounts and access permissions.
  • Reporting any issues or risks to the Network Manager and escalating where necessary.

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Have some experience of providing technical support in an IT environment, ideally in a school setting.
  • Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills and a willingness to learn new systems and processes.
  • Be organised and proactive, with good attention to detail and time management.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with staff and students.
  • Be confident in using and supporting Microsoft Windows, Office 365, and basic networking.
  • Work well as part of a team and respond flexibly to the needs of a busy school environment.
