School Dog

Bethlehem

Bethlehem also known as Beth is our school dog. Beth was kindly gifted to Finchley Catholic by our previous Headteacher, Mrs Arnull.

She is a Sproodle (Springer Spaniel and Poodle mix) which was chosen for their sociable and friendly nature. 

Beth loves it at school and the students and staff benefit from her presence everyday. 

Beth is owned by Miss O'Donnell and is situated in and around her office in the White House during the school day. We have taken great precaution to make sure that she and the students are safe around Beth. She is regularly groomed, wormed, and checked for infections or illness. 

Our students love interacting with Beth, whether that is whilst she is out for a walk on the school grounds or coming to visit her in the White House.

Students are able to take Beth for a walk within the grounds (although she does often take them for a walk instead!) and give her treats, but only if she's good! 

Beth is working towards completing cetification from Pets as Therapy (Pets As Therapy | Home)

If you have any concerns, please have a read of our School Pet Policy that details all of these measures and our risk assessment. If your child does not wish to come into contact with Beth or has any allergies, we ask that you contact Ms Rendell at info@finchleycatholic.org.uk with the relevant information.
