Enrichment

At Finchley Catholic High School Sixth Form, enrichment is an integral part of the student experience. We believe that success extends beyond examination results, and we provide a wide range of opportunities to help students develop confidence, leadership, communication skills and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Our enrichment programme is continually reviewed and developed in response to student interests, university expectations and the changing labour market, ensuring that students gain experiences and skills that prepare them for their future pathways.

Students can participate in a variety of activities including debating, public speaking and oracy development through our Debate Society and participation in the prestigious Catenian Public Speaking Competition. Our Insight Lecture Series gives students access to academics, industry professionals and subject specialists, broadening their knowledge beyond the classroom and exposing them to emerging sectors and career opportunities.

We are committed to helping students develop a broad range of skills that will support them throughout university, employment and adult life. Our enrichment carousel encourages students to think beyond their academic studies and invest in their future selves through practical and transferable experiences. Opportunities include First Aid training, Cooking on a Budget, High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), and team sports, all designed to promote independence, resilience, wellbeing and confidence. Alongside these activities, students engage with careers education, personal finance and leadership development, ensuring they leave Sixth Form as well-rounded young adults prepared for the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.

As a Catholic Sixth Form, service to others remains central to our ethos. Students are encouraged to contribute to the wider community through mentoring younger pupils, supporting school events, charitable fundraising and leadership roles across the school.

Our aim is to ensure that every student leaves Finchley Catholic not only with excellent qualifications, but also with the experiences, skills and character needed to flourish in an ever-changing world.
